Dear friends and neighbors,
It is a profound honor to serve our community as Deputy Mayor, and I am eager to leverage that experience and enthusiasm to lead San Marcos as our next Mayor.
San Marcos is undoubtedly a unique and special place to call home. I am proud of the accomplishments achieved by San Marcos. Past and present city leaders have made significant contributions to our community’s success, and I am humbled to have played a small part in that.
I possess a deep passion for public service, and my primary focus is on enhancing traffic flow in San Marcos, ensuring our public safety partners receive the necessary support to maintain our city’s reputation as one of the safest in the State, and continuing to prioritize our open spaces, trails, and parks that greatly contribute to our quality of life in San Marcos.
I am thrilled to have earned the endorsement and support of my fellow council colleagues, Mayor Rebecca Jones and Councilmembers Ed Musgrove and Danielle LeBlang. It is a significant honor to have their trust and confidence in my ability to lead San Marcos into the future.
I encourage you to browse my website to learn more about our achievements in San Marcos and our future goals. I also welcome you to contact me directly to discuss my campaign in greater detail if you have inquiries or suggestions. Lastly, I recommend following me on social media to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and updates.
Sincerely,
Mike Sannella

Mike’s Top Priorities:
Fostering a vision for San Marcos’ future that promotes recreation and entertainment options for our families.
Public Safety

Public safety has been Mike’s unwavering top priority, ensuring that our law enforcement and fire departments are adequately resourced to maintain a secure community. Mike played a crucial role in advocating for the implementation of License Plate Readers to enhance the Sheriff’s department’s crime prevention and investigation efforts. Additionally, he supported the establishment of a new Sheriff’s resource office in San Elijo Hills and the installation of a wildfire helicopter water-hydrant near Santa Fe Hills to help protect San Marcos from wildfires.
Infrastructure

I know that the fundamental desire of every family in San Marcos is to travel safely and efficiently to their desired destinations and back.
In recent months, San Marcos has made significant strides in enhancing our transportation infrastructure, including the inauguration of new bridges on Bent Avenue and Via Vera Cruz, and the reconstruction of Rancho Santa Fe Rd and Discovery St, all aimed at optimizing traffic flow.
I have also endorsed a forward-thinking Active Transportation Plan designed to streamline traffic flow while providing secure routes for bicyclists. Future plans are already under for the reconstruction of San Marcos Blvd, which will incorporate features designed improve traffic flow on one of our busiest roadways.
